The bezel is very thin around the display, the lower border is slightly thicker. There is nothing like the notch or hole in Realme X, that means you can see the content on the full screen. The sides of the display are not curved, but in total, this phone resembles the OnePlus 7 Pro to appear. Colors are vivid and brightness is also good enough for you to easily read the content in any light. Our review unit has already got a screen protector.

Realme X Fingerprint Sensor

In Realme X, there is an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for security. It quickly unlocks the phone, its success rate during our reviews is good. You also get five different animations to choose from. This handset of Realme brand comes with Face Unlock support.

The front sensor is a material sapphire glass that is good for durability. Apart from this, the phone has motion-triggered safety mechanisms which are capable of detecting that if the phone is falling, the camera module automatically stops. The bright back panel of the Realme X looks like glass but it is made of polycarbonate.

There are no markings on the back panel and the white color variants also do not appear in the spots. Realme people have found a place in the middle of the back panel this time and LED flash and two rear cameras are given above. At the bottom of the phone, there is headphone jack, USB type-c port and a single speaker. It was good to see that Realme x has also adopted the new USB Standard in its latest smartphone.

Realme X Sim

The SIM tray has a place in the side and only two Nano-SIM cards can be installed. Realme X is the first smartphone of the company which is not possible to increase storage with the help of MicroSD card. In the retail box you get Hard Plastic Case, USB Type C Cable, Wake 3.0 Fast Charger, SIM Eject Tool and Manual for the phone.

Realme X Specifications and Software

The Hardware Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor is used in Realme X, the same chipset has also been used in Realme 3 Pro. The Snapdragon 675 processor is very popular in this segment, if compared to this, the CPU performance is a little weak, but it is equipped with better-integrated graphics capability.

The price of Realme X starts from Rs 16,999. This price is of 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage variant. The phone’s 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model will be sold for Rs. 19,999, we have this variant for review. The LPDDR4X RAM is used in Realme X, not only that it comes with UFS 2.1 storage.
Talking about other specifications, Realme X includes Dual 4G, Dual-Band 802.11 AC Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 5, GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou navigation systems for VOLTE and support for sensors. This phone does not have FM radio. Software is quite up-to-date, Realme X Jun runs Android Security Patch on ColorOs 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie.

Its interface is the same as we recently saw in Realme 3 Pro. With the help of the Oled panel, when the phone is on standby, you will get an all-you-let display. However, it only shows the missed alerts of time, date and battery parcens, SMS and calls. It does not show notifications of other apps here.

There are many apps in the phone on behalf of Realme x, and some third-party apps are already pre-installed. Like news points will keep sending notifications to you, but you can also uninstall it if you wish. There is also a theme store app to customize the wallpaper and icon. In the phone, there are also modes of driving and riding mode that silence the notification, besides the handset also has motion and gesture shortcuts.

Realme X has a game space that organizes all your games in one place. The unit sent by Realme for review only is Widevine L3 certified, but the company says that retail unit Widevine L1 is certified, that means you will be able to watch Netflix and Prime Video’s HD resolution video without any hassle.

Realme X Performance and Battery Life

Realme X is a big phone but it is not wide, so it is also good to hold while holding the phone. We did not have a body slip of the phone, but if you find a real sloppy of Realme X then you can put the case that comes with the phone. It is difficult to reach the upper part of the phone’s display with one hand but if you enable one-hand mode, it shortens the whole interface.

Realme X draws all the attention to it and it fits easily into the hand. The funny thing is that many people considered it one plus 7 pro because the design of both the Realmey X and OnePlus 7 Pro both handset is very similar.

Regular use of Realme X and the phone is good even after gaming. The company says that the new gel cooling technology has been used in the phone, which uses copper foil, graphite flex and aluminum alloy to reduce the heat. The Snapdragon 710 processor gives a good gaming performance.

PUBG Mobile was set by default on high graphics and gameplay was also Smooth. Asphalt 9: Legends also went smoothly without any frame drop. Realme X is also very good for media playback. This is the first phone call from Dolby Atmos Support. This is enabled by default for the lower speaker and can not be turned off.

However, if you are using headphones, you can turn it off. You can choose between different sound modes or just keep it ‘smart’. The sound comes from the phone and the sound quality is also good. Both the fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock feature in the Realme X fast unlock the phone.

You can use the Face Unlock feature in two ways: either you can wake the screen by pressing the power button so that the camera module pops up or swiping on the lock screen. Realme X provides battery life even when you use more camera. In our battery loop test, the 3,765 mAh battery gave it 14 hours and 28 minutes, which is a good sign.

On the use of video streaming, camera use, gaming, and social applications, the phone’s battery has been on a single charge for one and a half days. Phone Wook 3.0 also supports fast charging and the phone ranged from 0 to 93 percent in one hour.

Realme X’s Camera

Realme X comes with two rear cameras. Here is the 48 megapixel Sony IMX 586 primary sensor with F / 1.7 archer. It has a 5 Megapixel secondary camera with an apt / 2.4 aperture. The primary sensor uses a 4-in-1 pixel binding technique that takes four pixels like a pixel to capture more light and it saves the image of 12 megapixels.

The same sensor has also been used in Redmi Note 7 Pro (Review) and OnePlus 7 Pro and the pictures taken from both were good. While capturing the Landscope shot inadequate light, the main camera captures colors and detail well. There was no shortage of sharpness in the picture. The Realme X works well with HDR and the dynamic range is also good.

In contrast to Lite, the button of chroma boost in viewfinder works to boost colors and brightness. Apart from this, you get a 2x button but it is only for digital zoom. Close-up shots were captured very well. The color tone is undoubtedly a bit warm, but the color and the detail are well captured.

While shooting indore in the Artificial Lite, the details of the knees were well captured in the close-up shot. The second sensor helps map the edges of the objects through which the portrait shots look good. Can not adjust background blur but it looks natural. Low-light performance is good.

Realme X Picture

In the pictures taken in the darkness, there was a shortage of sharpness and a little noise were also seen. If you want, you can capture pictures of better detail and sharpness using the NightScape mode in the phone. It takes a few seconds to capture the picture, but the picture is captured with bright and better detail.

A 16-megapixel front camera is provided in the pop-up module for selfie and video calling. It also uses pixel binding technology when shooting in portrait mode. It gives the portable shot of 8 megapixels, but when taking a normal selfie and shooting in the knight, it takes a picture of 16 megapixels.

Colors and details were captured well in the selfie drawn from Realme X, which caused a good picture. Brightness and Colors are also good in Selfie taken in low light. If you want, you can add the Bokeh effect to Selfie but it seems artificial but the Edge Detection is good.

Realme is capable of shooting up to 4K video but does not have image stabilization. The phone automatically stabilizes the video footage while shooting at 1080 resolution. Apart from this, you will also find 960 frames per second mode.

Our Decision

With Realme X, The company has tried to create an affordable flagship and it is a great smartphone. The option to increase the storage in the phone is of course not, but with 128 GB storage, it is not a big problem. Realme X is made well and it is also good to look. It has a large and visually displays, good software and good cameras are provided.

Realme X has also provided Type-C port in it. It may also be that the design is not favorable for everyone, especially when your hands are small. Apart from this, we liked video stabilization on 4K too. Realme X is a great smartphone in the price segment of less than Rs 20,000. This Samsung Galaxy M40 ( review ), Vivo Z1 Pro ( Revue ) and Redmi Note 7 Pro ( Review)) Is included in our list.

The first VivoV15 Pro was the most affordable smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor but now Realme X is available at a lower price than this. If you do not have any problems with its large size then Realme X has great features and its performance is also good.
